Greetings and Welcome,

Within the pages of this blog, we extend an invitation to embark on a captivating journey through the rich tapestry of historical narratives woven into the fabric of Sheridan's past.

Allow me to introduce myself – I'm Michael Dykhorst, a native of Wyoming, born in 1993. You might be wondering, "What does a 30-year-old know about the history of Sheridan?" Well, let me share my unique journey with you. In June 2011, fresh out of Sheridan High School, I found myself at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library's renowned Wyoming Room. As many of you are aware, the Wyoming Room is the repository of all things Sheridan History. During my 5.5 years there, I immersed myself in the fascinating annals of Sheridan and its surroundings, gaining invaluable insights.

As I look back on the highlights of my tenure, I would say my most memorable achievement at the Wyoming Room was having a pivotal role in the organization of reunions for past Miss Indian America winners, as well as helping the m into the role as Grand Marshals of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade in 2013. While at the library, I also had the privilege of authoring and co-authoring several significant books, such as "Now and Then Photographic History" (commemorating the 125th anniversary of Sheridan County, Wyoming), "Miss Indian America 60th Anniversary Reunion," "134 years of mayors of Sheridan, Wyoming 1884 - 2018," and more. Since my library days, I've penned 14 books and am currently engaged in crafting a history book spanning various enthralling topics. This blog will serve as a canvas for those narratives as well.

Join me as we peel back the layers, delving into the extraordinary local history and genealogies of the illustrious pioneers of our humble hamlet.

Your insights and suggestions are always welcome, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you for joining me on this historical odyssey.

Sincerely,

Michael Dykhorst, the author and owner of Roots Revealed Genealogy
